Sylvester (Kulyabka Simeon Petrovich; 1701/1704, Lubny, Poltava province-1761, St. Petersburg), Archbishop of St. Petersburg and Shlisselburgsky. In 1726 he graduated from the Kyiv Theological Academy. In 1727 he accepted monasticism and was appointed teacher of the academy. Since 1738 its prefect, from 1740 – rector. In 1745, on the call of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna, he arrived in St. Petersburg. November 18, 1745 is dedicated to the Kostroma and Galician bishop. From 1750-Archbishop of St. Petersburg and Shlisselburg. Archimandrite of the Alexander Nevsky Monastery. Was considered a famous theologian, distinguished by eloquence.
